This was the first year I have ever celebrated Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). If you don’t know what it is, you are in for a real treat if you decide to do a little studying on it! It was during this feast that Jesus stood up and said in John 7:37-38, “Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'” It is also right after this feast that Jesus said in John 8:12, “Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” When you dig in a bit and see what actually took place during this celebration, these beautiful words take on a whole new wonderful meaning. Not only is Sukkot a beautiful time of remembrance, it also points to our future as children of such a loving Father. It was a joyful time spent in fellowship with wonderful friends and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
