I just love the spring! All of Yah’s creation seems to be bustling around, full of life and full of color. Aside from fall, spring is my favorite time of year. I just love how these two seasons seem to be the turning points throughout the year. Fall is a welcomed break from the blistering heat of the summer, and spring warms us up from the bitter cold of the winter. Recently, I learned something else pretty cool about these times of the year. Did you know that the Father set up His own appointed times during these seasons? I didn’t either, or at least I didn’t pay attention when I had read it before. These appointed times are mentioned throughout the whole Bible, and you can find a list of them all in Leviticus 23. I hope you could go get your Bible right quick and look this up with me, because I really want you to see something very interesting that I guess I have always just skimmed over before. Verses 1 & 2 of the chapter have this to say before the list of set apart times is given, “1 The Lord spoke again to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord’s appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations—My appointed times are these:” I don’t know about you, but I had always heard that they were just Jewish holidays. It says right here that it is Yah’s set apart times. Isn’t that fantastic! What a wonderful time they are to meet Him! They are beautiful celebrations set up strategically throughout the year by the Creator of the earth and He has invited us to join Him! Wow!! That just makes my heart so full! If this isn’t enough to make you excited about His set apart times, I hope you take a moment to research how these appointed times point directly to Jesus Christ, His Son. It all just makes me want to cry, they are so beautiful! The spring feasts were fulfilled by Christ and the rest point us to the wonderful promises to come, to be fulfilled in the future. (Please take the time to search all of this out for yourselves. You will be blessed if you do!) (Also, a little side note, in Greek, the word fulfill is plēroō, meaning to make full, to fill up.)
I have been so overly excited to see all of my friends searching out the Passover this year! It feels like the Father is bringing us all closer to Him and His Son Jesus! My prayer is that you meet Him at this time which is founded in His Word, and the beauty of all of His set apart times will fill your heart with joy! I will leave you with this beautiful verse from the apostle Paul in the New Testament. 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 reads, “7 Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” So, go and celebrate the feast my friend, and enjoy His blessings!
