A wise dear friend said just before she deleted her Facebook app, “I got to thinking about how we follow people and stuff on Facebook. Yeshua (Jesus) says to follow Him…He is the Way, The Truth and the Life. Shoot…that would be good to post on Facebook.”

Oh she is such a treasure, a dear and precious soul. I am thankful for her insight as she struggled with being sucked into the social media sites. The sites themselves aren’t the problem, but the act of putting these things first, before the One True God, is where we get pulled away.

I’ve been dealing with my own idols lately. Y’all the pain of putting off the flesh can be almost unbearable. It’s such an ugly process! It rips and tears leaving gaping holes, and if we don’t fill those wounds with His Truth, the things we are putting off come back with fierce strength, more overwhelming than before!

I am so thankful the Father uncovers those idols and sins so they can be dealt with! I’m so thankful for the love and grace He has to send His Son as the perfect example on how we should walk in His righteousness apart from this world.

1 Peter 2:21-25
“For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN H IS MOUTH; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.”

Follow Him dear friends! Be set apart as He is set apart (1 Peter 1:13-16).
